Robyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a specialty in children. She has over 14 years combined experience working with children, adolescents and their families as both a special education teacher and a counselor, which gives her a unique perspective for working with children/youth and their families. She has a deep empathy and understanding of children and family processes and explores family and school dynamics when working with a child, because those are some of the factors that shape them. She likes to involve the whole family in the therapy process, to build alliances and conditions that will benefit the child. She is very comfortable working with schools and assisting with the family side of Individualized Education Plans, due to her 10 plus years of working as a Special Education Teacher.
As a therapist, she has experience working with clients with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, trauma, bullying issues, sexual abuse, ADHD, school phobias, attachment disorders, custody issues (to include court experience as an advocate), transition and career counseling, and mental illnesses. She has worked with clients as young as three and as old as 70 and feels comfortable with every age. She uses Adlerian Family Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rogerian Therapy and Deconditioning Therapy. Robyn loves working with people to explore ways to help them succeed and be happy in their lives.
