Samantha is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master of Arts in Christian Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. She has worked primarily with teens and young women, but hopes to work with couples and families, while incorporating the family background and story into each session. Shannon Marshall is a pre-licensed professional, who earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and in marriage & family therapy. She earned a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University. Before transitioning into a career in counseling, she was a teacher for over 15 years and welcomes the opportunity to work with schools, including helping with Individualized Education Plans. She has experience and enjoys providing community-based counseling with individuals, couples, and families with clients of all ages. In her practice, she draws from Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, ACT,  mindfulness, and Creative Arts Therapies including Play Therapy and Sand-play. She believes in prioritizing the client’s well-being and maintaining a collaborative approach to create an individualized treatment plan unique to the client’s needs, emphasizing growth, wellness, prevention, advocacy, and autonomy. Her practice is holistic and integrative, neuro-informed, and trauma-informed, considering development over the lifespan.
