Welcoming New Therapist Erica Schmitz

Working from our flagship Oak Park office Erica is a Licensed Professional Counselor and MA who will also work at MCHH’s growing telehealth counseling service.

Erica is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Masters of Science in Education at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. Erica enjoys working with couples, adolescents, and adult individuals dealing with a wide range of life struggles including anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational conflicts. Within her counseling approach, she utilizes Reactive Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Person Centered Therapy (PCT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy (BSFT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). She feels it is important to have multiple approaches so that treatment can appropriately fit everyone’s unique counseling needs.

Jennifer, Founder and Clinical Director of Midwest Center for Hope & Healing, is a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 20 years’ experience in providing individual, couple and family therapy. She attended Concordia University Chicago where she received a Master of Arts in Community Counseling with honors. She has worked with men, women, adolescence and children who are dealing with a variety of life situations and struggles. Jennifer specializes in anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, divorce, domestic violence, stress and self-esteem. She uses a person-centered, holistic and cognitive-behavioral approach in her therapy to help clients meet their goals.
