CONFLICT RESOLUTION

COUNSELING FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION

When life is stressful and people disagree, it can sometimes feel impossible to talk without someone blowing up, shutting down, or storming off. As adults, we encounter people who are aggressive, passive aggressive, or simply non-responsive, and it can become all too easy to act immaturely in response to them. Learning to manage conflict as a mature adult is perhaps one of the most useful skills that exists, and we forget that counseling provides an opportunity to do this work.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I STRUGGLING WITH ANGER?

Signs can include:

trouble asserting oneself

becoming easily volatile

lack of trust in family

rude or immature communication

avoidance of openness/honesty

HOW CAN COUNSELING HELP WITH CONFLICT RESOLUTION?

The counseling room is a space where you can build skills for conflict resolution as an individual, a couple, or a family unit. Sometimes people need to practice speaking clearly and calmly and hearing the viewpoints of others, and our counselors are trained to help you become a more effective communicator at work and home. If you are experiencing a conflict with your romantic partner or a family member, then coming to counseling together can help everyone feel heard and begin to problem solve in a calmer and more mature way.
