Shauntrice is a dedicated and compassionate licensed professional counselor and school counselor with 20+ years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults of diverse populations. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Concordia-Chicago University.
Some of the modalities that she utilizes during counseling include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), which focus on acceptance, as well as changing negative thought patterns, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also utilizes a trauma-informed approach, with training in both Trauma-Focused CBT and holding a certification as a Christian trauma care provider. For couples, Shauntrice uses Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Theory. In addition, she may incorporate play therapy for children and music, art, and games during therapy sessions as needed.
Shauntrice offers support to improve the lives of those affected by depression, anxiety, grief, ADHD/ ADD, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, adoption, divorce, and more. She incorporates a holistic, client-centered approach with biblical counseling when applicable to individuals, couples, and families. With all of the struggles and challenges her clients may be facing, she provides a caring, safe space while helping them to build resilience and fostering hope, growth, and ultimately healing.
